ECONOMY PROGRAM
The Economy Program, with a special focus on the informal economy is a specific part of the organization directed towards improvement of the situation of people, mostly women, that work in the garment industry, that are home-based or street-based workers, and belong to the informal economy. There are several priorities that this program is working on:
Regarding these given priorities the Permaculture and Peacebuilding Centre - Stip, Economy Program will work on their realization through various objectives and methods of work.
Support of the home-based workers - to extent the knowledge of the informal workers for protection of their rights - to organize the people that are home-based workers for action and visibility - to create conditions for improvement of the economic situation of the home-based workers - to extent the knowledge and understanding about the types of home-based workers in other countries - to promote and establish cooperation with home-based workers from other countries
Support of the garment industry workers (90% women) in Macedonia Regarding this priority, Permaculture and Peacebuilding Centre - Stip, Economy Program will work on realization of the following objectives: - to encourage processes for cooperation among the involved parties on national and international level - to provide legal protection for the workers - to ensure implementation of the eight international standards in the supplying chain - to inform the public, especially consumers about the conditions in which the clothes is produced in the garment factories - to advocate and lobby for the interests of the workers on national and international level
Promotion of the international standards for the workers - to introduce the workers with the international conventions of MOT - to report violations to international commissions and other bodies - to provide support for harmonization of the national legislation with the international conventions
Development and establishment of partnerships with international organizations with similar priorities - to establish cooperation and share of knowledge and experiences with organizations outside Macedonia through study visits and volunteers exchange - to participate in international seminars and meetings organized by international organizations
Entrepreneurship development - to develop skills and knowledge among citizens for entrepreneurship - to connect Macedonian entrepreneurs with international entrepreneurs in order to exchange experience and knowledge as well as development of cooperation
The objectives that are set within the priorities of the Permaculture and Peacebuilding Centre - Stip, Economy Program are general and are introduced as direction of the work of the organization. They will be realized in the way that annually and strategically they will be specified and will serve as a basis for development of concrete programs, projects and activities to be realized for the achievement of the objectives and priorities. |
